About Us

Our History

Gordon Farms started in 1945 when Arthur Gordon purchased his first parcel of land in Swift County.  Arthur raised crops such as Sugar Beets, Corn, Soybeans and Wheat. He also had beef cattle.  Beef cattle was a part of Gordon Farms up until 2006.

Among other notable achievements, Arthur was an original board member for Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative thus being instrumental in getting a sugar beet factory built in Renville, MN.

In 1968, Arthur’s son Arlo and family moved back to Swift county to farm with Arthur.  Arlo eventually took over Gordon Farms.  Arlo was also active in the local agricultural scene serving on multiple board of directors, for example SMBSC.

Arlo’s son Adrian started work at the farm in the late 70’s and eventually taking over in the 90’s along with Arlo’s son-in-law Reid Carlson and Arlo’s other son Brian Gordon.

Presently, as Gordon Farms works its way into its 4th generation, many new challenges will continue to arise.  However, we will use experience from the past in combination with the latest technology and equipment to put our hard work and determination toward ensuring the success of Gordon Farms for generations to come.

OUR MISSION

Gordon Farms is an agribusiness focused on being a top producer of agricultural commodities by our employees, our customers and our community.
